It's time to make some adjustments and sell a few items (for those who are wondering or concerned, Craig is not retiring!). These are great instruments that have been lovingly cared for, case-stored, and never used in smoky settings.
Please call 717-576-1664 to inquire about any of these instruments.
Conklin Groove Tools (GTBD-7) Bill Dickens Signature 7 string bass guitar.................................$1450 Excellent, "Near Mint" Condition. (Ser. #: 07063597) "Purpleburst" color (which is more of a wine red). The GTBD-7 is the best mass-produced 7 string electric bass, hands down and is ready to handle any style of music you throw at it. Includes semi-rigid Groove Tools case (CGC67), neoprene strap with strap locks, 2 brand new sets of Conklin Snakeskins strings ($150 value). Maple/Purpleheart neck-thru-body construction, Swamp Ash "wings" on the back with a Curly Maple top, gold hardware, and totally custom made Bartolini Bill Dickens model pickups and custom electronics; including a 3 position parametric preset rotary switch and mid frequency selector. The only obvious sign of wear on this instrument is the gold painted Bill Dickens signatures are largely worn off the pickups. Audio clips of this bass can be heard on my Audio Samples web page.
Ergo 5 string EUB (electric upright bass)............................................................................................... $650 Very Good Condition. (Ser. #: 0685) "Classic" finish. This entirely hand-made EUB is the "closest-to-acoustic-sounding" electric upright bass you'll find for under $1,500 (maybe more!). 42" upright scale neck, so it plays like a true upright - can even be bowed (in fact, I'll include a bow!). Includes stand and rigid, plastic tubular case with wheels (suitable cases for "stick basses" are difficult to find - especially something rigid). I receive positive remarks about the sound of this bass nearly every time I play it (and I consider my skills as an upright player to be fairly average). There is a small ding in the fingerboard but I have played with it there for a while and it does not seem to be problematic.
Cort Curbow 5 string bass with road case...................................................................................................$300 Good Condition. Cort? Who is Cort? Well, Cort is one of the largest guitar manufacturer's in the WORLD! In fact, they do contract work building certain models of instruments for a number of companies whose names are easily recognized for their instruments (Fender, Gibson, Ibanez, G&L, ESP, Conklin, PRS...). Obviously, if these big name companies trust Cort to build some of their models, Cort must know what they're doing! This is an older Cort Curbow 5 string bass with Pearl White finish (frankly, I think it was the nicest color Cort ever had for this bass). Ideal for someone looking for a decent 5 string - as a starter bass, back-up bass or main bass. This is one of the most comfortable basses to wear with a strap (slightly unusual to play sitting down because of its body design, but not bad). Luthite body with great styling makes this bass so lightweight you'll barely know it's there; even smaller players will find this bass a joy to play. Rock maple neck, Ebanol fretboard (a man-made composite that is supposedly as durable as ebony). Electronics and pickup upgraded to Bartolini MK4 and Aguilar OBP-1 electronics. I used this bass for 2 years as my primary instrument before moving up to a 7 string (actually, this bass inspired me to do so). Has minimal finish wear on body. Includes custom made Anvil-style road case for heavy-duty protection. With the upgrades and the case alone, this package is easily worth more than I'm asking.
Samick Greg Bennett FA-2 electric guitar............................................................................................... $275 Very Good Condition. (Ser. #: S020620020) Red. Never played it much (I'm a bass player!). This guitar can handle a lot - from country twang with its lipstick single-coil pickups to driving rock with the Duncan Designed dual-coil humbucker. Single cutaway body, Bound, High Tech quilt top, Maple bolt-on neck, Maple fingerboard, Grover™ tuners, Hardtail-string through bridge, HSS Duncan Design™ pickups. 5 way pickup selector switch seems to be a little "dirty" but should clean up with contact cleaner. Includes very nice "like new" padded gig bag with several pockets and backpack straps.
Zoom B2.1u multi-effects/DI.................................................................................................................... $100 Good Condition. 96 kHz sampling brings out the original sound character of the bass. Great bass amp sounds for any situation. Six-band linear EQ or two-band parametric EQ offer total flexibility. Two bass synthesizer types with different filtering and internal waveforms. 13 different bass amp and stomp box modeling choices. This can also serve as a nice battery powered "practice" device; plug in your bass, your headphones and fire up the drum machine and jam along!
