cape may - morningIn the fall of 2009, I started a new journey in my life.   With my 50th birthday on my doorstep, I began pondering how, after the many years of striving to serve others through the use of the gifts and talents God had given me, I felt a need for something that was just a "between me and God" kind of thing; something I could do any moment I felt inspired or when I felt a need to get away from the ravages of the daily grind; I have always been a bit of an introvert and I'm quite comfortable without much social stimulation, so time away from everything tends to energize me.

So why photography?   Well, to make a long story short, I picked up my first SLR camera back in the mid 1980's and enjoyed a short period of taking outdoor photos.  Of course, being newly-weds at the time my wife, Lynda, and I watched every penny (we have relaxed a little since then) - and back then the cost of film and processing, just so one could see the results, was more than our budget could accommodate.  Sadly, the camera went into storage and life continued on.  Who would have known that 25 years later I would have the opportunity to re-connect with a hobby I was just beginning to enjoy and had wished I could pursue further?!

Needless to say, after 25 years of taking time off from photography, I have a LOT of catching up to do.   I am honestly enjoying every minute of it!   Lynda has been wonderfully supportive and not been on my back about everything I've purchased (of course, I have tried to be careful about not buying the latest and greatest of every little thing that I would like to have).

craig-elkcountyI hope you will stop by my photography gallery and store at imagesbycraig.net and see my growing collection (maybe even purchase an item or two for yourself or a special person in your life!).  At the very least, please tell others about my photography.  I have had a wonderful response from people regarding my photos.  The Craig Douglas Gephart Photography facebook page continues to grow and I try to add new content as I have something I feel may be of interest to others.  I hope, at the very least, if you are a facebooker, you will take a moment to click on the "Like" button on my facebook photography page so you can be kept up to date on what I'm doing with my camera!

I do hope, just as many have been blessed by my gifts and talents as a bass player, you will also be blessed by the fruits of this new adventure in my life.
